Family Notes:

Austin Black died about 1887, though no official death certificate was located. We were unable to locate a resting place for this soldier. His widow applied for pension benefits in November 1887 from Missouri.
We know that his wife is interred in the Baptist Cemetery in Hannibal. Malvina Watson Black went on to reside with her son, John Henry Black and his family till her death in 1926. Their daughter, Frances appears to have died as a young woman. We noted that Malvina is enumerated as having one child living in the 1900 census.. John Henry Black, a widower himself, lived well into the 1950’s, in the same home he shared with his mother.

John Henry Black goes on to raise his family, in the same family home.
John Henry Black died June 7, 1955.
