Family Notes:

The marriage record for Ben Brown and Julie Berry, August 16, 1870, in Nelson County, Kentucky, was not signed. He later married Rachel Cox (March 17, 1887, in Nelson County). The 1880 census reported that Ben was the father of Mary Brown, age 5, and John Brown, age 23 in 1880. Julia Berry’s 1870 household contained 3 Berry children. The 1880 household of Rachel Cox contained her daughter Mary Cox and grandson Louis Cox. Death records have not been located for Julie or Rachel Brown. Ben W. Brown died on Dec. 31, 1895, and was buried in Bardstown, Kentucky.
