In 1870, Frederick and Nancy King were next-door neighbors to Nancy’s parents, Henry and Priscilla Moody. The 1900 census reported that Nancy was the mother of 15 children. Based on the 1850 population schedule, in Spencer County, Henry Moody was a free man of color.
