Family Notes:
The soldier’s death information above was located via an Ancestry query documenting the above death date in Jefferson Co., KY, due to what appears from the cursive writing to say indigestion.
Additionally, an index record from the U.S. Veterans Administration also located in Ancestry appears to also document the death of the soldier on the same date.

Family information for the soldier’s wife, Mary Graham nee Anderson, was derived from a death certificate documenting her death in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, on Sept 21, 1944, upon which her parents were identified as E. Anderson, POB, KY (father) and Mary Stone, POB KY (mother). The informant was Katherine Davis (believed to be her granddaughter – see 1910 census).

1920 Census Notes:
A census for 1870 was located in Ancestry reflecting an individual bearing a matching name to the soldier (post military) of George Graham. Per the record located, he was 22 (YPOB about 1848 KY). With an abundance of caution as set forth in the census notes in the data base, it is believed that this is the soldier based upon his CMSR, pension index records, census records beginning in 1880 and records from the U.S. Veterans Administration. Estate values and reading/writing ability information was not included on the census record.
In that research documented the soldier’s death in 1902, the census records thereafter reflect the household headed by his widow. No occupation information was set forth for her on the census schedules beginning in 1910. Children (1900 and 1910) and grandchildren (grandson 1920) in the household worked in Janitorial and Laborer oriented occupations.
