Family Notes:

George Taylor’s death record was retrieved from Mortuary Records, posted by Louisville, KY. Scant records for widow Mary and son Charles after 1880. Unknown where Charles may have lived as an adult. Julia Taylor, born about 1858, may have been a daughter of George and Mary Taylor. She was only retrieved in the 1870 census household with the family, and no other definitive information was retrieved for her to conclusively identify a family relationship.

Enslaver Information

Name: Isaac Hall Location: Oldham County, Kentucky
Previous Enslaver:
Enslaver Notes:

Isaac Hall was not George Taylor’s enslaver in 1850; he would have been only about 26 years old and was not a property owner (he worked on someone else’s farm). The more likely enslaver would have been Oldham County resident and census enumerator William G. Taylor for two reasons: (1) Provides an explanation for the surname Taylor (2) He had an enslaved male who fit the age profile for George Taylor.
The Isaac Hall family was not located in the 1870 census but his widow is still living in Oldham County in 1880 with four of their children.
