In 1872, Henry Hamilton married Mary (aka “Mamie”) Langley (1849-1902) in Evansville, Indiana. Henry Hamilton had one child, a daughter, Nora (aka “Eleanora,”) Hamilton (1864-1940), who was born in Kentucky. Mary Langley was born in Henderson County, Kentucky. Around 1895, Henry Hamilton and family moved to Louisville, where his wife Mary died in 1902. Although no death records or obituaries were discovered for Henry Hamilton, based on the US Census and Louisville City Directory listings, Henry Hamilton died in Louisville sometime between 1910 and 1911. His only survivor, daughter Nora Hamilton, worked as a school teacher in Evansville and Louisville. After Henry Hamilton’s death, however, Nora Hamilton worked as a domestic servant. She spent the last decade of her life as a resident of the “Home for the Aged and Infirm” in Shively, Kentucky (Jefferson County). Nora Hamilton never married and had no known survivors.
