Jack Mudd was mentioned in the record of Miles Mays who enlisted May 18, 1864, in Lebanon, KY by Captain Fidler. Jack was listed as one who enlisted in the same company who enlisted about the same time and place as Mudd. Jack Spaulding was another similar soldier.

Jack Mudd was also mentioned in the Bureau record for Stephen McElroy, Company A., 107th USCT. The record stated that Jack Mudd died August 15, 1865, and not 1864 as mentioned in his CMSR.
