Two CMSRs were retrieved for the soldier; one is a single card with the spelling “Jordan Briscoe” and the note “See Bristow, Jordan.” The CMSR retrieved under the name Jordan Bristow is the more extensive of the two sources. It contains his enlistment papers, but no slave compensation application. Jordan Briscoe/Bristow served in Co. G of the 108th Regt. USCI. He mustered in at the rank of private, mustered out at the same rank. The soldier was absent from roll August 1865 because he was in post hospital at Vicksburg, MS for an unspecified disease. He mustered out at Vicksburg, MS on March 21, 1866. Jordan Briscoe owed the U.S. $22.01 on his clothing account at muster out (page 17 of CMSR).
