As part of Co. G. 108th, USCI, Peter Ray was appointed Corporal on July 12,1864 under regimental order # 27. This would be the first of three promotions for Peter Ray. Under regimental order #50, Corporal Peter Ray would be promoted less than a year later to Sergeant on April 1st,1865. Sgt. Peter Ray would be promoted again, to 1st Sergeant on July 1,1865, under regimental order #55. His enlistment was credited to the 5th congressional district of Kentucky.
