The widow’s pension filed referenced the soldier as Rogers Brown and Rogers Browning. His correct name is “Rogers Browning” it is found on page 6 in the widow pension and in the muster roll in the CMSR. Melinda’s maiden name was referenced as Witherspoon on page 7 of the pension file. Melinda Brown stated in her application on page 4, that she and Rogers married about 1847.
