On the death certificate, it notes his “conjugal condition” as married, and in the inventory of his effects, his wife Amanda Washington signs for them. He and his wife had no children. There is one possible census record for Amanda Washington found in 1870, she may have remarried with a different last name after the 70s. Amanda was 36 years old when she applied for a pension in 1866 making her birth year 1830.

Yearly was mustered as a private on August 1, 1864 in Louisville, KY. He died on November 9, 1865 at Fort Strong, Virginia of pneumonia. Amanda Washington was the widow of Yearly, and they had no children together. They were married on October 6, 1865 by a colored preacher. Amanda was a resident of Virginia.
