William Vandarin spent a considerable time hospitalized in both Virginia and Texas. While at Richmond, Va, he was on duty as a nurse at the Post hospital. He later died of cholera at Brownsville, Texas. CMSR includes the Slave Compensation Claim application of enslaver, Alfred Van Deren.
